Who is Nutkit and Gingerkit? During my first playthrough I only heard of Eagle/Nightkit. I'm doing my second one now but I don't know who these kits are. Any help?

Not sure who exactly Gingerkit is, but Nutkit is the kit you find down by the lake. You can do this before speaking with Blackheart to go to the Moonpool. She is unconscious and you have an option of leaving her there or taking her back to camp. If you save her, Briarstar will ask where this kit came from. You can choose any of the four Clans, or say she is not a Clan kit. ShadowClan is the right option, which you will learn her name is Nutkit. If you choose that she's not a Clan kit, you can name her and Applefang takes her in.
Later, during the Dove's meeting, you'll learn where she is actually from and this will prompt the sidequest, Kitnapping. If you succeed, Amberflame returns her to ShadowClan. If you fail, she remains in ThunderClan to grow up. (I always choose to fail, just because I want her in ThunderClan lol).

From what I understand, Gingerkit is just what the other player named the kit (if You don't return her, You get to name her).

I went down without speaking to Blackheart but couldn't find her.

You have to talk to Blackheart in the medicine cat den to have him wait by the moon pool exit first. Then during that time you can do a few sidequests, finding Nutkit being one of them.
Nutkit is down by the lake on the cave hill or mossy thicket area. I forget which one lol.

What does Nutkit say in the Voideyes sequence if you leave her? I tried, but I just can't bring myself to leave the poor little kit to die

If you fail, she remains in ThunderClan to grow up. (I always choose to fail, just because I want her in ThunderClan lol). How do you fail? After going to the dove's meeting and finding out where Nutkit is gone, just go to the nursery to trigger it. All you have to do is just get into the view of one of the other cats. If you walk up to the deputy, that's an easy fail.
