I suggest sending Kestrelpaw back. Also at the beginning of the battle make Nettleclaw use whirlwind strike because Sootleg will always use shadow formation on his first turn and make nettleclaw use whirlwind strike every time sootleg uses shadow formation. Make her guard every other turn to bring down her agro. All the other apprentices attack sootleg and have duskpaw be the tank and make sure that he always has enough health for the next attack and always have enough energy to use adrenaline rush.

How do you figure out which Sootleg is real? Again with nettleclaw using whirlwind strike it hits all the sootlegs and does like 3000 damage to all the fake sootlegs and kills all the fake ones but she either misses or does about 20 damage on the real sootleg

I actually like using a move that the main character can learn called "Counter Attack" to not only make you invincible but also attack the enemy, quickly clearing out the shadows, and also combine it with "Body Block" to quickly get aggro.
However this does consume huge amounts of energy so I suggest you take the Hawk path, NEVER train with Nettlepaw/claw, and then when Waspwing asks which style is the best, say that everyone's is useless, which will allow him to quickly train you and make your normal attacks give you 5 energy instead of 4 and increases your attack (And maybe defense, I forget) by one I think, so you won't lose aggro trying to get energy (You can actually train with Nettlepaw/claw after Waspwing for stances but you will have to do EVERYTHING you can to be at a good relation with her from the start of the game).
I also suggest you have someone in your party capable of healing such as Duskpaw or Badgerpaw (While Badgerpaw can use her heroic skill after the Legends Come to Life quest to heal a good amount without much energy cost, Duskpaw can use his "Second Wind" as many times as needed at a high energy cost and aggro risk) or learn some healing moves for yourself, such as adrenaline rush or first-aid lick (requires you to train with Blackheart at least once)

I have another question regarding the tactic with Sootleg. Right now my main character has a build with Fox stance/Leglock/Bodyblock + increased agility and bravery. I used to bodyblock Nettleclaw and Duskpaw a lot, so they have time to heal, but with Sootleg it just doesn't work, she KO's us so much it's a nightmare. We never have time. We lose every time. And yeah, I'm on easy mode.
I can see a potential with with suggested Counter Attack, but what else I can do to improve my build? Maybe a different stance that I underestimated?

I think Clawdancers stance is a pretty good stance. It increases your agility and recovers energy. (I think) Don't send away Duskpaw because, as an old DD says, he can be used as a aggro tank. When he's low on health, use his heroic. Sootleg will keep attacking him as long as he has the highest aggro. Don't let Nettlepaw/claw die because she can hit all of the shadow cats.
Sorry if that's hard to understand or wrong or anything. I'm mostly writing this from memory.

Mistlepaw, no no, everything's clear for me. I should've mentioned before that yes, I do use strategy with sending away Kestrelpaw and having two Heroic Skills, on Duskpaw and Badgerpaw. That's a solid advice. Dusk is indeed the tank, but sometimes I absorb aggro from him or Nettle as now this is a part of my tactic. I was once pretty close to finishing the battle, but then Sootleg healed herself, and, well, we didn't last long.
Sigh. Maybe I really should just give up at this point and try another playthrough, another build. It's only sad for me that the Legends Come to Life cutscenes and the battle with yellow cat are not appear to be skippable, it's rather distracting from Sootleg.

If you tell Eaglekit and Nightkit a story on day 4 and get all the questions right, on day 6 Badgerpaw will ask you for help with a story. I'm not sure if you need a high relationship with her or not. I won't spoil anything else, because it's a really cool quest.

Ayy, I think I've found a trick! *looks at date* It only took me a month to get this out:) But moving on- First, unlock Dusk's second heroic, and Badger's heroic. If you're doing a medi cat run, make sure you know healing moves. Have Nettle guard when it's just Sootie, so her aggo drops and you have EN. In fact, make sure Badger has some aggo in case you need to activate her heroic. Badger also has a low power healing move called moral support or something, which is useful. I'm pretty sure Nettle always gets attacked first. If Nettle dies, you can use Dusk's second heroic to bring her back. Kittypet can learn a move called leglock which makes the target only able to do basic attack, I used it on one of my runs, BUT it uses 9 EN, so if Sootie dodges it, you're in trouble. Easy mode definitely makes things, well, easier if you're really stuck. That's all I got now, I'll be sure to post if I get any new tips.
