A few people have asked about my game, and I've decided to share an exclusive taste of it with the RtI community. I hope you enjoy it.
First off, though, I have to explain what it is you'll be playing. (I'll also ask that you don't spread this around. It's just a little treat for the RtI community.)
Originally, my game was a remake of another Warriors game, The Next Generation. Several months ago, I decided to make my game into an original Warriors story instead. I haven't really worked on it in a while, but I'll be redoing what I had. While some story elements of what you're about to play will still be there, I'll be throwing out most of it, and the story will be completely different when I make a real release. Also, I hadn't fully polished and fixed up all of the gameplay and stats. This is very much a rough draft. Additionally, the game doesn't have an "End of demo" screen or anything, since the file I'm sharing is just a progress update I shared with Leo. Instead, it's just incomplete after you leave the RiverClan apprentice den, and I've blocked off some areas that are a mess and contain spoilers. I'm basically just sharing this as a sample of what the gameplay and writing will be like.
With that out of the way, let me get into installation instructions. It's a bit more complicated than usual. First off, you'll need to have the RPG Maker VX Ace RTP installed. I didn't include it in the game, because it bloats my already bloated file size.
If you have RPG Maker VX Ace, or a trial version of it, you should already have the RTP installed. If not, download it here, and then follow these official installation instructions, from the RPG Maker website.
1. Save the file (RPGVXAce_RTP.zip) on your local hard drive.
2. Find the downloaded file, right-click it and select Extract All.
3. Click Extract.
4. Open RTP100 folder and run Setup.exe to install RPG Maker VX Ace Runtime Package.
5. Click Next.
6. The Runtime Package will be installed. Click Next.
7. Click Install. It starts copying the necessary files, please wait a while.
With that done, it's time to download my game.
First, download this file.
It's a game, but it's not what you want. Just open up the folder, but not the game. Instead, copy the Audio folder somewhere safe, and delete the rest.
Now, download this file.
It's the game you'll be playing, but it doesn't have the massive Audio file. Paste the Audio file into the game's folder, and the game should work.
It's a lot of instructions, but things will be simpler with my first real release. Still, I hope you'll enjoy this sample!
